ℹ️ How is this calculated?

A solar eclipse happens at Amavasya, when the Moon passes in front of the Sun; a lunar eclipse happens at Purnima, when the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow. All eclipse times are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris. A solar eclipse's begin/end is for the whole Earth; lunar eclipse times are the same everywhere the Moon is above the horizon.

Only the astronomical times are listed here. Sutak and the other observances around an eclipse differ between traditions, so they are not shown.
